PUSH BOUNDARIES, CUT NO CORNERS – $35.99
With the conception of our Cane Creek eeWings Titanium crank set we cut no corners, and our CNC-machined preload assembly is no exception. The Cane Creek Crank Preloader is equipped with an aluminum preload ring, an aluminum inner thread ring, and a titanium 2.5mm hex fastening bolt.
We are so proud of this piece of jewelry that we decided to design it to fit onto other 30mm crank spindles from SRAM and Raceface, and 28.99mm SRAM Dub Crank spindles. Lose the plastic preload on your crankset, add peace of mind.
Thread Ring | 7075 Aluminum |
---|---|
Adjustments | 7075 Aluminum preload spacer adjuster |
Materials | Grade 5 Titanium 2.5mm hex fastening bolt |
Fitments | Fits Raceface 30mm Spindles, Fits SRAM 30mm Spindles, Fits SRAM 28.99 Dub Spindles |
Included | 30mm and 28.99mm threaded inner rings |
We ship each crank preloader with two inner, threaded rings (the part that is affixed to the crank spindle). 29mm for Sram DUB cranks, and 30mm for other cranks. The exact inner dimensions of these rings are 29.03mm & 30.005mm, respectively.
Ben Rea answered on December 1, 2023 store managerYes! The crank preloaders will work on Rotor's spindle.
Ben Rea answered on December 1, 2023 store managerYes - the preloaders come with the necessary 30mm spindle threaded ring installed. Our installation instructions show how to perform the upgrade.
Ben Rea answered on November 21, 2023 store managerCrank Preloads will work with 30mm of DUB sized spindles. You will need to install the correct thread ring for your crank and the preload comes with both 30mm and DUB thread rings.
Ben Rea answered on October 9, 2023 store managerBy using a very light bead of super glue the thread ring is able to be removed if needed. Super glue is strong but as long as you do not over apply it, the bond can be broken. Do not use too much as that may cause the adhesive to contact the threads and may create issues with the preload.

As a machinist/ME, building MTBs is a nice hobby to have. I have built a few biked over the past couple years and have had trouble with the plastic pre loaders that come on cranks. Theae alloy pre loaders have a better feel of tightness than the original plastic pieces. Gives a builder more confidence that all the play is out of the crank arms. Plus with the color options, it gives a custom build good options for personalized look.
