Interlok® Spacer Compatible

Our patented Interlok spacer design provides solid interface between the top cover and spacer stack, meaning they “nest” together and into the top of the bearing cover, which helps minimize shifting under load while riding; and shave 25% in weight off a standard alloy spacer stack. Spacers sold separately

A Legacy of Innovation

In 1992, we brought the Aheadset®, the original threadless headset, to market – kicking off a major change in the way bicycle frames and forks would be developed going forward.

The original design of that revolutionary headset is still found in almost all bikes on the market today.

Q & A

Hi! I need for my Specialized Diverge Comp Carbon (2020) a new bearing. The original bearing is 40x52x7 mm. Does your bearing from the 110 series fit? Kind regards, Lars Lars asked on June 6, 2023

Yes, our Helllbender stainless steel bearing, Part #BAA1055 is a 52mm outside diamater (OD) and 40mm inside diameter (ID) with a 7mm height.

You will also want to verify that the contact angles on your bearing are 36°x45° since the BAA1055 bearing uses these contact angles.

If your bearing uses 45°x45° contact angles this is our part # BAA1161 for the Zinc coated steel Zn40 bearing in the same size you need.

I couldn't not find which they used on your Diverge but often the bearing has this information etched into along with the bearing OD and ID. You can also contact a Specialized Dealer or Specialized directly and they may have this information.

I have a 2022 specalized crux (new design) what headset would work with the lowest stack height? Ian McDonald asked on May 24, 2023

We were unable to locate the Crux's headset size on Specialized's website but I found the headset listed in the owner's manual, on an aftermarket site and it appears the new Crux is using a 49mm bearing for the lower head tube. https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/specialized-crux-integrated-headset/138672688/p

We do not offer this size, and to my knowledge, Specialized is the only brand using this 49mm lower sizing so you will need to contact Specialized, or a Specialized Dealer for a replacement lower headset.

For the upper headset, I could not find this information but Specialized has used IS42 on all of their road and gravel frames and this is likely the size you need for the upper headset. We offer this in our super low stack Hellbender70 SLAM - Part # BAA2165K.

Hey there! Will any of your crown races fit as a replacement for this one? https://acros-components.com/en/headsets/crown-race-1.5-for-ec44,-ec49,-zs55,-zs56--is52- Thanx in advance! Denys asked on May 1, 2023

Yes! You need our 52/40 crown race to pair with these Acros headsets if using a 1.125" degrees to 1.5" tapered fork. Part # BAA0010s.

Make sure the bearings in your Acros headset are 36°x45° to ensure correct fit.

Best part of being a part of the Cane Creek family:  It’s very refreshing to work for a small, tight-knit company where we all share the same passions and to develop new products that make cycling better for everyone.
What you’ll find me doing on the weekends: Obviously riding bikes, but also wrenching on bikes or cars, exploring the mountains, and watching F1 races.
How I got here (at Cane Creek): Feeling pretty unfulfilled with a corporate engineering job, I happened to see that Cane Creek was hiring. I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands dirty working on the latest bike tech and was fortunate enough to be offered the position.
