Very compliant, and the adjustability means I can ride road/hard pack without power loss, but switch it to soft and hit pothole ridden gravel roads and even some MTB trails. Far better than the other ‘red’ company stem I returned.

I haven't had the opportunity to ride with it much yet, but my initial impression is very positive. I installed it on my Salsa Cutthroat. It was very easy to install myself and I'm looking forward to longer rides. The vibration dampening was perfect on initial riding.

At first I didn't notice the difference going over speed bumps, the bike felt normal. When I road on rougher sections I could tell, the bike absorbed a lot of the shock and I felt more in terms of control and comfort.

Love the semi lockout feature. Should have gone 10mm shorter and had to make that up with handle bars but really like the results!

Over the past 20 or so years, I have been using different suspension/damping stems for my non-mountain bikes to attenuate the rattles from the neglected roads and gravel trails.
It all started about 20 years ago when I bought my first suspension stem, the Softride Front Suspension, which introduced the philosophy of “suspending the rider, not the bike”. It worked beautifully by filtering out all the bumps and rattles from the road. But it is heavy, non-adjustable, and it bobs when climbing hills and stopping.
About 5 years ago, I tried a ShockStop suspension stem (+30 degrees x 100mm). It worked great on a bike with a flat bar but had a weird sensation on a road bike with a drop bar because of the circular motion of the handlebar. The firmness of the damping can be adjusted by selecting the desired combination of elastomers.
Shortly after that, I bought a spring based Kinekt stem. The stem moves up and down, which gives a more natural feel of suspension effect, just like the Softride Suspension stem. But it is not light at all.
Over the past Labor Day holiday, I saw the promotion from Cane Creek on their eeSILK stem and said to myself: “with a price of this good, I have nothing to lose”. Besides, I can always return it if it does not work out. Here you go, I got a 90mm one with the compliance switch.
Man, it is day and night riding on neglected roads with this wonderful stem on my older full-carbon road bike with tubeless setup. Yes, the stem pivots along the joint close to the steer tube, but the rotating sensation is barely noticeable, probably due to a different tuning. It’s light (230 grams, or only 67 grams heavier than the FSA Team Issue carbon/alloy stem of the same length), tunable (from soft to firm) and good-looking. One week later, I also bought an eeSILK carbon seat post (not directly from Cane Creek though) to complete the upgrade. I am so happy to the upgrades. They gave my beloved older road bike a new life – I can now ride it faster, further, and more comfortably.
Now, the upgrade also gave me a dilemma: Should I keep my older full-carbon road bike with all the comfort-oriented upgrades or my newer Trek Domane SL5? With the eeSILK upgrades, my older full-carbon road bike is now truly a more cost-effective (and lighter) alternative to my Domane SL5 when it comes to comfort in riding.
Thank Cane Creek for making these wonderful products!

A great improvement over my rigid stem. Makes gravel riding even more pleasurable.
