Hello, please email us at support@canecreek.com and we can help you with your coil spring questions. Thanks
Andy Bennett answered on March 18, 2024 store managerThe spring converters allowed for our springs which had a larger outer diameter to be used on Fox dampers which had more narrow spring clips and preload collars.
Ben Rea answered on July 18, 2023 store managerThe Spring converters on only required on older Fox dampers using Fox's older style spring clip. The clip/preload on these older Fox dampers were narrow and these converters allowed our springs to fit more securely.
We have not verified if they are required for the Marzocchi shocks but with Fox and Marzocchi being the same company now its very likely are using the same clip and preload... I recommend reaching out to Marzochhi to see if they use the same parts as Fox. Worse case these converters will not hurt any spring install or performance so if you cannot find out, use the converters and they will work fine.

As a machinist/ME, building MTBs is a nice hobby to have. I have built a few biked over the past couple years and have had trouble with the plastic pre loaders that come on cranks. Theae alloy pre loaders have a better feel of tightness than the original plastic pieces. Gives a builder more confidence that all the play is out of the crank arms. Plus with the color options, it gives a custom build good options for personalized look.

Turns out, I didn’t actually need this, but it seems like it would do the trick for the shock that does.
