DBcoil IL is the lightest weight coil shock on the market, while using 40-50% more damper oil compared to other shocks in its class. The DBcoil IL is the first ever twin-tube inline shock that packs in all of the function of a piggyback coil shock in a lighter and sleeker package.

Oil circulates continuously through externally adjustable shock valves. Twin-tube shocks have two main chambers, a compression chamber, and a rebound chamber, separated by the adjustable valves. The main damping piston forces damping oil between the compression and rebound chambers via the externally adjustable damping valves. On the trail, this routing of oil translates into less fade, more control, and greater consistency.

Coil shocks are sold without Spring or Hardware.

CLIMB SWITCH

New Integrated Tool

Four-way adjustability becomes even more accessible with the new integrated tool nested in our CS (Climb Switch) lever.

When engaged, the low-speed damping is changed via a set of internal “climbing circuits.” We tune these circuits specifically for the demands of off-road climbing to achieve improved pedal efficiency with less chassis motion. Unlike other climbing platforms, our CS feature adjusts both low-speed compression and rebound.

Four-Way Independent Adjustment

The DBcoil IL offers an unparalleled range of adjustability through external adjusters that independently control each phase of damping without crossover effects. High and low speed compression, and high and low speed rebound are independently adjusted.

Other inline shocks typically provide the user with a single rebound adjustment or rebound combined with limited pre-set low-speed compression. The easy tunability of DBcoil IL means a rider can make a quick trail-side change, increasing pop, plushness, or other features for personalized fine-tuning.

Replaced my worn out air shock with this coil rather than waiting a couple weeks with no bike for repair. The shock and spring added less than the weight of a banana. The factory tune feels perfect unfortunately shock wiz can’t verify as it only works with air springs.

Q & A

The cane creek 200x57 mm shock comes with no spring or hardware? How much extra is a spring Rob Swain asked on March 1, 2024

Hello, springs are not included and run from $40 up to $99.99. Hardware is not included either as each bike/frame uses a specific size.

For a single pivot mountain bike with a shock speck of 200x57mm should I get a 55m coil or a 65mm coil? Javier asked on February 22, 2024

Hello, We would recommend our 57mm standard Valt spring or our our 55mm Progressive spring for a 200 x 57mm size shock.

I have a DB Coil IL G1 – 200 x 57mm – BAD1741K. Can I use the Valt progressive rate coil (55mmx450-550lbs) on the shock? Nico asked on January 23, 2024

Hello, yes, this 55mm progressive spring will fit the 57mm stroke shock you listed.

Will the shock fit on a bmc speedfox trailcrew 02 (x01) 2016 and if it can what hardware would I need? Martin asked on January 10, 2024

It looks like that bike used a 190x50mm shock. Unfortunately, we do not make one in this size any more, as it is not commonly used.

Got this (old) version on sale after the new version came out, and have been very impressed with the performance. Great shock - feels sensitive/supple but also supportive and poppy when I need it. Nice work Cane Creek.

By far the best shock I've ever ridden. It handles the steep and knarly as well as the smooth and buttery. I ride in the BC interior on DH and XC trails including the parks. This shock has never let me down. It's durable, tunable and the performance both up an down are amazing. It's been on my Trance sx for 2.5 years and I'm looking to install a Cane creek full setup on my new rig.
