Q & A

I'm looking for brake pads for SCX 5. jeff asked on June 21, 2023

You can use most any brake pad that is suited for Cantilever/Linear pull brakes. Make sure they have the pad stud on the back since this is required. You can find instructions for the SCX5 calipers here: https://canecreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/SCX_5_Cantilever_Brake_Calipers_Instructions.pdf

As a machinist/ME, building MTBs is a nice hobby to have. I have built a few biked over the past couple years and have had trouble with the plastic pre loaders that come on cranks. Theae alloy pre loaders have a better feel of tightness than the original plastic pieces. Gives a builder more confidence that all the play is out of the crank arms. Plus with the color options, it gives a custom build good options for personalized look.
