Air IL – 210×55 – BAD2623

SHORT TRAVEL, BIG PERFORMANCE - $629.99

$629.99

A powerful shock that’s light and supportive enough for crushing climbs, with the damping performance of much heavier, piggyback shocks for ripping fast descents. Designed for the rider who values going up as much as going down and proves that your bike’s capability cannot be measured in wheel travel.

Air IL offers better damping and smoother suspension performance than other shocks in its class.

Powered by DB Twin Tube technology, IL gives a super wide range of 4-way damping adjustability and uses 30% more oil volume in the damper compared to other inline shocks. Stock-level suspension makes all kinds of concessions to suit the larger market, and when the amount of rear travel is already minimal, IL is perhaps the most noticeable upgrade you can make to your bike’s performance.

Highlights

  • Four-way independent adjustment
  • Climb Switch & integrated tool
  • Thicker inner damper tube for increased strength
  • 17mm reduction in overall width on the valve body to increase fitment possibilities on tight frames
  • 6mm reduction in the outer diameter of the air spring to further increase the likelihood of fitment
  • Increased max psi pressure up to 350psi (Up from 300psi)

Hand-assembled and individually dyno-tested in our Western North Carolina facility, IL shocks continue to provide a level of quality, performance, and rider benefit that is unmatched.

Had a few rides, but very satisfied! Air IL seems as good as Öhlins TTX Air (Air IL is a touch better IMO). But the ability to tune it precisely to work in the perfect balance with the Formula Selva is amazing benefit! I hope it will handle the clavis mount. The best thing is — it is so small, but the performance is among the best. The only complaint is that when you set it up, the CS lever gets in the way and you easily forget to open the CS lever after you made some changes. It’s a minor thing, but a bit annoying. Maybe in future it would be nice to change the shape of the lever a bit.

Q & A

Does bd il2 fit a stumpy evo 2023? Brian asked on May 14, 2023

Yes but only the DBAir IL G2. Coil IL is not compatible with Stumpjumper and other "clevis mount" bike.

Much better than the Rockshox Sidluxe that came on my Transition Spur! This one is holding up well so far, the Sidluxe leaked oil and air and was pretty useless after not long at all. Little tricky to tune and setup, but love that you can tune the high and low speed compression and rebound. Doesn't work with a shockwiz though due to the nature of the dual air chambers. Feels great riding though, even though my tuning/setup could probably be better!
