Setting the DBair IL apart from other inline shocks, oil circulates continuously through externally adjustable shock valves. Twin-tube shocks have two main chambers, a compression chamber, and a rebound chamber, separated by the adjustable valves. The main damping piston forces damping oil between the compression and rebound chambers via the externally adjustable damping valves.
Compared to other shocks in its class, Cane Creek inline shocks use significantly more oil in the damper; 40-50% more oil. On the trail, this routing of oil translates into less fade, more control, and greater consistency.
The DBair IL offers an unparalleled range of adjustability through external adjusters that independently control each phase of damping without crossover effects. High and low speed compression, and high and low speed rebound are independtly adjusted.
Other inline shocks typically provide the user with a single rebound adjustment or rebound combined with limited pre-set low-speed compression. The easy tunability of DBair IL means a rider can make a quick trail-side change, increasing pop, plushness, or other features for personalized fine-tuning.
Four-way adjustability becomes even more accessible with the new integrated tool nested in our CS (Climb Switch) lever.
When engaged, the low-speed damping is changed via a set of internal “climbing circuits.” We tune these circuits specifically for the demands of off-road climbing to achieve improved pedal efficiency with less chassis motion. Unlike other climbing platforms, our CS feature adjusts both low-speed compression and rebound.

Really happy with this shock, works at least as well as the Fox X2 and haven’t had any reliability issues or getting sticky like the X2 always does. Lighter and more compact is a nice bonus

Really nice shock, easy setup and installation. I’m running on an older specialized enduro, definitely an upgrade from the standard shock. As advised by customer service for my bike (older specialized enduro), I used a volume spacer, good travel and no bottoming out.
Only downside, now I’m dreaming about a new fork :)

It wasn't a tough choice to get this shock rather than have my existing shock serviced. This is a VERY impressive shock with the ability to custom tune to your liking (seems like a great shock to use with a ShockWiz). What I immediately noticed was the lack of any 'reverberation' when landing jumps. Second is that you can adjust shock such that even when I forget to unlock it, when I hit the rough stuff, it still engages when it should!

I knew this shock would improve the ride of my Santa Cruz 5010, but was blown away by how much better the bike rode. Biggest difference was in traction and cornering speed. No chatter in corners and really wants me to lay the bike over more than I ever have. Was setting personal records on Strava ever lap when I was doing tuning runs on a trail I’ve ridden many times. Also made a difference on short punchy climbs requiring way less effort to make it up. Really glad I made the purchase. Thanks! – Dusty
