Tuning your suspension starts with dialing in your spring. The independent positive and negative air chambers – along with the self contained indexed volume adjustment system allow all Helm air forks to be set up for any rider and any style.
The Helm MKII air spring has a redesigned air piston which increases air volumes and reduces friction, greatly improving traction and suppleness on trail. The threadless seal head and manual negative air charge button designs allow for easy travel setting adjustments and the ability to properly set up riders of all different sizes and abilities.
Every single Helm fork is designed, built, inspected, tested and packed by a dedicated team of suspension professionals at our facility in Fletcher, North Carolina. Andy Bennett answered on April 4, 2024 store managerHello, please email us at support@canecreek.com and we can help you with your rear shock and fork fitment questions. Thanks!
Andy Bennett answered on March 28, 2024 store managerIt does both... It will change how much travel your fork has obviously. But reducing travel will steepen your head angle while increasing travel will slacken the head angle. This will also affect your BB height so consult your frame's manufacturer to make sure you can adjust fork travel.

Helm MKII was purchased to pair up with the Cane Creek AIR IL that I have on my REEB SST.
I purchased the 150mm but I’ve also ridden the 140mm version. This shock is the best riding shock I’ve ridden, it has a great small bump damping effect but can handle the big drops and jumps with ease.
Definitely take time out to learn about how to set up this fork, it functions differently than other forks.
My only criticism is the price point and only because I feel many other riders would choose this shock if the price comparison was better when weighing it against FOX or DVO.
Even with the price I’d recommend this fork without hesitation.

First impressions are very good. Good small bump sensitivity but with a very tunable mid-stroke. The high and low speed adjustments make for meaningful changes with aids in the set up. At 140 mm, this helm has dramatically improved my ride for my ibis ripley V4.

Threw this shock on an ibis ripley V4. Absolutely transformed the bike. Loads of mid-stroke support but with excellent small bump sensitivity. The rear end has way more traction than with the stock suspension. The small weight penalty is absolutely worth it for the performance improvement.
