Q & A

Hi, I don't know the name of the saddle of my bike, so I don't know which product I need to select here. Can I send you a picture of the bike parts (screws who are broken) and can you advice me which one I need to command? To which mailadress I can send the picture? Thanks a lot. barbara Luypaert asked on July 20, 2024

If I want to trade out the round thumb wheel round screw for the bolt on the eeSilk what is the part number? It’s hard to adjust the thumb wheel Sam Cichanowicz asked on July 21, 2023

That would be part #AAE0097SS - EESILK 2.0/+ - POST - REAR BOLT M5X0.8X33 - STAINLESS

You can find this part # and other eeSilk parts on the eeSilk instructions: https://canecreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/AAE0305_eeSilk_Instructions_1_25_2022-1.pdf

The Newest Version Thudbuster (4G) Seat Clamp actually holds, IF tightened all the way to the torque limit. The original did not hold. That isn't exactly high praise.

I had tube measured with a drop in taper gauge and it measured at 26 mm. The seat post was stamped as 25.4. The shim was too big… I used an aluminum can.

I just installed this and rode it a little so far.
Unlike many reviewers online, I had no problems with the installation. I believe their issues are due to user error. Seems to be a great design.
But I think it is a bad marketing decision by Cane Creek to insist on shipping these with no choice for elastomer.
It is not just rider weight that factors in here, but maybe more importantly the type of riding.
E-bikers hitting potholes is a very different issue from a mountain biker on real mountain bike trails, even if they weigh the same.
Forcing me to go through the swap procedure, expense, and hassle, followed by never having a need for my Medium elastomer, puts a needlessly bad end to the purchase and install experience for me.
