Q & A

If I want to trade out the round thumb wheel round screw for the bolt on the eeSilk what is the part number? It’s hard to adjust the thumb wheel Sam Cichanowicz asked on July 21, 2023

That would be part #AAE0097SS - EESILK 2.0/+ - POST - REAR BOLT M5X0.8X33 - STAINLESS

You can find this part # and other eeSilk parts on the eeSilk instructions: https://canecreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/AAE0305_eeSilk_Instructions_1_25_2022-1.pdf

Beautiful seat post and I really wanted to use it on my Calfee Tandem. Unfortunately it will not insert easily into the seat tube. Goes in about an inch or two and gets stuck. Measuring the post suggest that it is not in perfect spec. Purchased a 27.2 mm post, but the bottom of the seat post is closer to 27.3 and that is just too tight and will not work. I have several other 27.2 mm seat posts including a Thudbuster that I have used for years that fit great. This one just seems too big. Disappointed as I really wanted to use this post. Trying to work with staff from Cane Creek to see if they will let me return this post.

I loved my previous LT (long travel) Thudbuster, but in my current bike the height of the LT would have made my saddle too high. The ST (short travel) would fit my bike and I thought it's claimed two inches of travel would be fine. The St is light, and very high quality, but I found it to have only one inch of travel, which is just not enough for me. I bought a competitors two inch spring seat post that does have two inches of travel and it's almost as good as my LT Thudbuster on my other bike.

Best part of being a part of the Cane Creek family:  It’s very refreshing to work for a small, tight-knit company where we all share the same passions and to develop new products that make cycling better for everyone.
What you’ll find me doing on the weekends: Obviously riding bikes, but also wrenching on bikes or cars, exploring the mountains, and watching F1 races.
How I got here (at Cane Creek): Feeling pretty unfulfilled with a corporate engineering job, I happened to see that Cane Creek was hiring. I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands dirty working on the latest bike tech and was fortunate enough to be offered the position.
