Headset Bearings

All Cane Creek headset bearings are durable, sealed cartridge bearings, and they’re interchangeable between headset series. Simply match the bearing size and drop in your new bearing. (See below for bearing compatibility).

We cannot guarantee compatibility with our bearings in a different manufacturer’s headset.

Precision engineered by Cane Creek in Fletcher, NC.

Note: BAA2297 is a drop-in bearing upgrade kit for FSA IS42/IS52 headsets (commonly found on current Specialized mountain bikes). Designed to work with existing headset bearing cover and compression ring. Sealed crown race included.

*Our ZN40 bearings (used in all 40 Series headsets) can feel rough in hand initially. This is a necessary side effect of the corrosion-resistant zinc coating used on the balls and races. This initial roughness wears in, becoming smoother with use, and extends the overall lifespan of the bearings.

Q & A

Hello, I have a bike with top ZS44/28.6 and bottom EC44/30 SHIS. I found the 110-series BAA0763K that fits perfectly, but when I read the list of replacement parts, or the bottom parts sold individually on your website, I only found EC44/33 SHIS, not EC44/30. Is it the same ? And what bearing is compatible with EC/44 30 lower part, is it the 45x45° in 47mm BAA2155A ? Henri Charbonnier asked on June 20, 2024

Hello, if you currently use a EC44/30 - then you would have a 52mm Lower bearing with a 30mm crown race. Our EC44/33 uses a 47mm Lower Bearing and a 33mm crown race. Our Hellbender 52mm is part # BAA1055

Hi. I have a 2023 Santa Cruz Blur with a Cane Creek 40 IS installed. I’m getting some headset wobble even after adjustment, so hoping to take the opportunity of upgrading some headset parts. Is the AER headset a drop-in replacement for the 40 on a Blur with the Fox 34 fork? Thanks! Matt B asked on April 29, 2024
