Verified OwnerAt first I didn't notice the difference going over speed bumps, the bike felt normal. When I road on rougher sections I could tell, the bike absorbed a lot of the shock and I felt more in terms of control and comfort.

The lockout is really of no value.
It may be worth trying a firmer elastomer in the stem in this case! A firmer base setting will ultimately make the CS lever feel like it has more effect when turned. If the elastomer is too soft for the rider’s weight or riding style, then it’s a bit easier for the stiffening effect of the CS lever to be overpowered. Hope this helps!
It works and is a great product to reduce hand fatigue and numbness when riding on gravel/dirt roads.
With the adjustable stem I always have the correct amount of shock absorption to reduce wrist and shoulder pain without it feeling loose. Great product.
