Interlok® Spacer Compatible

Our patented Interlok spacer design provides solid interface between the top cover and spacer stack, meaning they “nest” together and into the top of the bearing cover, which helps minimize shifting under load while riding; and shave 25% in weight off a standard alloy spacer stack. Spacers sold separately

A Legacy of Innovation

In 1992, we brought the Aheadset®, the original threadless headset, to market – kicking off a major change in the way bicycle frames and forks would be developed going forward.

The original design of that revolutionary headset is still found in almost all bikes on the market today.

Q & A

Hello, Would this work on a Specialised Tarmac SL5? I keep getting high speed wobbles and am hoping this might help stopping the shimmy. Thanks Lorenzo asked on December 26, 2023

This bike uses a proprietary lower headset bearing (37mm ID, 49mm OD) that we do not produce. I would recommend contacting your local Specialized dealer to aid in finding you headset replacements.

Can I replace the Acros IS41 - IS52 headset that came with my 2023 Canyon Spectral AL with the 110 series IS41 - IS52? I'm concerned the chamfer or heights might be different? Denis asked on December 21, 2023

So long as you use our crown race and bearing cover (which come witha complete Cane Creek headset) there should be no issue. The bearing dimensions should be the same, however I would recommend buying a handful of IS headset shims in case there is a small difference in the height of the upper bearing. I cannot find the exact Acros dimensions listed online. IS shims can be purchased on our website, searchable by part number .HSS2050 and .HSS2051 - Get a few of each, they are always helpful to have in your toolbox for future use even if not needed on this bike.

Which variant will work for Bianchi Aria 2021(YQB9D) uses Fsa Orbit C-33, NO.44E, 1.1/8">1.1/4" Illia asked on December 17, 2023

We do not make a 110 headset that fits this particular bike. It represents a much less commonly used size. We do have replacement bearings however, that can be swapped in using the existing compression ring and headset bearing cover. The two bearings you would need are BAA1160 and AAA2083. You will have to call your order in, as AAA2083 is a highly unique bearing and not listed by itself on the website.

Can it fit on a nomad 6? Alexandre Chartré-Bouchard asked on December 13, 2023

Yes indeed. Santa Cruz uses IS41, IS52/40 headsets in their mountain bikes. The Cane Creek part no. is BAA0768K.

I have a 110 headset marked "ZS44 - EC44/52". It looks exacly like the main image featured on the 110 headset page, even down to the numbers. When I click the drop down menu, I don't see anything near that size . Is this item discontinued? Connor Singh asked on December 8, 2023

The "EC44" refers to the lower half of your headset being an external cup, 44mm at the skirt, that press-fits into a headtube with a 43.9mm internal diameter. The "52" refers to the bearings that sit inside that cup, 52mm diameter. More than likely, with a 52 bearing, you have the ZS44-EC44/40 for a 1.5" steerer tube, but it is possible you have EC44/33 lowers for a 1.25" steerer or an EC44/30 for a 1.125" steerer tube. The 40, 33, and 30 refer to the crown race internal diameter. I hope this helps.

Big Fat Rob answered on December 8, 2023

We offer that headset - the naming is just slightly different to what you're seeing printed on the lower headset cup. The EC44 lower cup uses a 52mm bearing, but the way we list headset assemblies on the site refers to the crown race seat diameter in this spot. So likely what you'll need, if you have a tapered, 1.5" fork is a ZS44 - EC44/40. (1.5" steerer uses a 40mm crown race)
