Recommendations and Warnings
Cane Creek recommends only trained suspension technicians perform service on all suspension, using all required tools and following all proper procedures. Anyone without access to the proper equipment or with any concerns on the procedures should defer to an authorized Cane Creek service center for service. Improper service can result in loss of performance or suspension failure. Follow the service procedures exactly as written to avoid possible injury or harm to the suspension. Always wear eye protection while performing suspension service. Please dispose of all waste products and materials through proper channels to avoid contamination of the environment.
Any damage or issues resulting from improper service will not be covered by warranty. If you have a fork still in its original warranty period and do not wish to void your warranty, please contact an authorized Cane Creek service center.
These service instructions cover the basic service procedures using standard service kits. If your suspension requires parts beyond standard replacement parts – legs, chassis, etc. – please consult your authorized Cane Creek service center or contact us at our Cane Creek Support Center.
Service Notes
These instructions cover 100 & 200 hour oil and wiper change. If carrying onto further service, you will be prompted when to switch to those instructions.
These instructions cover the SL & CS variants. The CS will have more steps and those are noted. Those can be skipped for SL forks.

Wiper Install

Place lower seal head on table or thread into fork upper. Using 30mm wiper seal press, install new wipers (ABG0128) into lower seal head. Remove seal head if installed for wiper install. Thoroughly grease and install seal head o-rings (ABG0127).
Leg Assembly

Step 1 – Spring Side Leg Seal Head Install
Thoroughly grease inside of wiper. Install seal head onto air leg. Note seal head orientation. Install sag o-ring (ABG0320).

Step 2 – Air Valve Install
Apply 243 (Blue) Loctite to air valve threads. Install air valve using 3mm. Torque to 2 Nm. Install valve core. Torque to 0.5 Nm. Pressurize air leg assembly to at least 60 psi. Use dunk test to check for air leaks. Install valve cap.

Step 3 – Brake Side Leg Seal Head Install
Thoroughly grease inside of wiper. Install seal head onto damper leg. Note seal head orientation.

Step 4 – Bushing Carrier Install
Apply 243 (Blue) Loctite to brake side bushing carrier thread. Thread carrier onto leg. Clamp leg on brake flats in soft jaw vice. Using Knipex, tighten carrier onto leg until snug.
Leg Install

Step 1 – Spring Side Leg Install
Clean threads on air shaft with pick. Apply fresh 243 (Blue) Loctite to shaft threads. While pinching bushing, insert air leg into air side of fork upper. Gently slide leg into upper until first contact with shaft and fork upper. While gently applying pressure, rotate air leg assembly until you feel the flats on the air shaft slot into place. Maintain pressure to keep shaft engaged. Using 3mm Allen, thread air shaft bolt onto air shaft through fork upper. Torque to 5 Nm. Reinstall air side plug on uppers.

Step 2 – Brake Side Leg Install
While pinching bushing, insert brake leg into brake side of fork upper. For CS only: Gently slide leg into upper until damper hex contacts inside of fork upper. Rotate leg until damper hex engages and slots into place. Maintain pressure to keep damper engaged.

Step 3 – Button Install (CS only)
Pack button mechanism with PolyLube grease. Install button mechanism and tighten to damper using 13mm socket. Torque to 7.5 Nm. Insert CS button into cavity. Engage the button to ensure proper function. Leave CS in closed position so set screw is exposed. Cover upper around button to protect finish. Using 2mm Allen, tighten set screw until snug while applying little pressure to the button to keep it from twisting. Again check button for function.
Adding Oil & Seal Head Install

Step 1 – Adding Leg Oil
Secure fork with legs up. Using syringe, add 5ml of 15wt Motorex Racing Fork Oil to both legs.

Step 2 – Seal Head Install
Thread lower seal heads onto fork upper.
Using Bottom Bracket Tool, torque to 15 Nm. Reinstall seal head guards. Make sure they are properly seated and aligned.
