The question is Why I bought this item?
I bought it because while riding my very expensive Reise miler bike, this element unexpectedly simply broke off!!!!
it was clearly made of some crappy china metal. Bravo Cane Creek I almost die .

The price to repair an already expensive seat post was ridiculous, I had to buy a $25 kit to replace a $1 bolt. Not pleased with that, I will be selling this seat post now that it is fixed and buying a replacement from a different company.
