    Disappointing Durability

I’m disappointed with the durability of the plastic GPS mount—it broke in less than a month. A base made of aluminum with two screws would have been a much better option.

    tl;dr use some carbon paste

There's no denying Cane Creek knows how to make something look classy while being functional, but they missed the mark here on the latter. The joint to adjust the angle of the arm is just bare, smooth machined metal on both sides, held together by whatever sheer friction the tiny little joint screw can muster to clamp it all together. This is so obviously inadequate I'm surprised it made it this far. Was there no product testing? There needs to be something in there to provide mechanical advantage, not just friction. Grooves would have been the obvious answer.

I like the mount. It's clean and, although obscured by my computer, pretty from the perspective of others. Crucially, I added carbon paste to the joint and now it holds both my computer and a light over even the gnarliest pavement my city has to offer. You shouldn't have to, but it's a pretty easy solution to the slippage problem.

    Annoying!!

The mount looks good on the bike BUT the tiny screws that actually secure the mount to the stem bolts are equally fragile. The mount starts to move on the first ride. That's really annoying for the price!

    Really disappointing

This is a really disappointing product. On relatively smooth road any small bump will cause the whole thing to pivot down with just my edge 840 on it. If I have a light and my edge 840, I’m having to reach out and pull the whole thing back up to where I vertically want it to sit very frequently. I’ve had great experiences with Cane Creek products in the past (headsets, BB’s, ee wings, fork, etc) but this one really missed the mark. I’m convinced no one actually tested these before they were manufactured and sold.

Hi Andy, We're so sorry to hear of your bad experience! We'd like to replace your mount with a new one. I will have our customer support manager reach out to you directly to arrange getting you a replacement. We did ample ride testing with the mount design, including real world riding with 400g steel blocks attached to the end of the mount! We test all of our products well beyond the industry standards. That said, manufacturing tolerances can still occasionally produce one that has trouble staying put, and this is true accross all industries. In any case - we've got you and we appreciate the feedback. It does get noted for potential future updates to the design!

The mount is very customizable. The one weakness in the design is the pivot point that needs to be tightened to 3 nm. This is especially important if riding on rougher terrain such as gravel. I recommend making the tightening screw larger to make it easier to reach recommend tension without stripping the bolt and possibly including extra screws.
