Cane Creek Announces Second Generation Kitsuma Rear Shocks

Asheville, NC

Today, Cane Creek is excited to announce the second generation of their Kitsuma shock. Kitsuma is a burly ‘gravity-first’ shock that’s built for long travel trail, enduro, and downhill mountain bikes. It’s ideally positioned for riders for whom getting down the hill fast is the top priority. Kitsuma gives riders maximum grip, a supremely planted feel, and allows them to ultimately go faster thanks to a more personalized tune. In addition to these ride enhancing benefits, it’s the only 4-way adjustable shock that’s entirely tunable by hand – making it easier to move through the setup process and get back to doing what riders want – ripping down the trail.

Getting the best out of any shock requires a decent amount of tuning, and the second generation Kitsuma makes that tuning easier and more immediate with the aid of updated dials on all 4 damper adjustments. Each dial now offers a large range of adjustment contained in a single 360* turn with marks that denote each position of the adjuster. Reading one’s shock settings is now as easy as reading the hands on a clock.

No hunting for tools, and no ‘counting clicks.’ A simple glance at the shock tells the rider exactly how it’s set up and how it’s responding to the trail.

This means less time tinkering and more time riding.

The behavior and performance of conventional shocks are often preset internally by bike manufacturers, suspension shops, or aftermarket suspension tuners. These internal presets, commonly referred to as ‘custom tunes,’ can be limiting. Like any choice or decision, preset shock tunes inherently represent a compromise and are solely based on one human’s opinion versus another’s. Kitsuma G2 (like all Cane Creek shocks) uses a twin tube damper that offers highly customizable performance on the outside of the shock. This allows riders to make immediate, wide-ranging, and meaningful changes to their shock tune without the costly and time-consuming process of sending the shock off to be disassembled and re-valved. Relative to the rest of Cane Creek’s shock line, Kitsuma’s twin tube damper moves the most oil through the external adjusters, giving the rider the most freedom to select the ride that they need to suit their environment, ride style, and personal preferences.

For the first time ever, Kitsuma is available in two colorways: a classic black livery with small gold accents or the all new, eye-catching Kitsuma Silver which gets a full suite of brightly anodized silver parts. Kitsuma Silver will be available in select sizes and in a limited quantity, available at launch.
