Q & A

I am looking for top and bottom headset bearings for a 2011 Specailized Ruby Expert. The bottom I believe is OD49*ID37*45. I am not sure what the top is. James McLachlan asked on September 18, 2023

What size cartridge bearings for a 2016 Fuji SL 2.3? David Rogers asked on September 15, 2023

The only information I could find on the 2016 Fuji SL 2.3 has it listed using "FSA, 1 1/8"" upper - 1 1/2" lower, integrated". The lower bearing is a 52mm but has either 36°x45° or 45°x45° bearing contact angles depending on the fork being used. If your fork is using a pressfit crown race its likely a 36°x45° bearing. If the fork is using an integrated crown race (molded into the carbon) it's likely a 45°x45° bearing.

The top is either a 41mm bearing or 42mm since these are both "1-1/8" integrated" headsets. Fuji does not specify which one they used... if it's a 42mm bearing it's like a 45°x45° contact angle bearing.

Bearing sizes and contact angles are often laser etched into the side of the bearing so you can start by checking your current bearings...

If this is confusing or you are not sure, visit your local bike shop and they can help you determine what bearings you need.

For headset model... it depends on the quality level of the headset you want.

I have a 2015 specialized langster pro (it is the red one), I have been trying to find the right headset I have tried a couple of FSA ones but everyone says to get cane creek. I cannot find the right size that fits, all I know is that it is integrated David Lucero asked on August 26, 2023

It appears your Langster uses an IS42 top headset and IS49 lower headset. We only offer the Top IS42 and you'll need to call Specialized for the lower IS49 since this is a Specialized only part...

Thin and weak then broken. It might be overtorque.

Cant have the headset without these! Ordered a spare as I run a few different fork set ups, so having them all ready to go with races in place speeds up the swaps!

Best part of being a part of the Cane Creek family:  It’s very refreshing to work for a small, tight-knit company where we all share the same passions and to develop new products that make cycling better for everyone.
What you’ll find me doing on the weekends: Obviously riding bikes, but also wrenching on bikes or cars, exploring the mountains, and watching F1 races.
How I got here (at Cane Creek): Feeling pretty unfulfilled with a corporate engineering job, I happened to see that Cane Creek was hiring. I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands dirty working on the latest bike tech and was fortunate enough to be offered the position.
