Extend Your Ride

These posts make great enhancements to endurance road bikes by reducing the chatter transmitted from the surface to the rider and can be tuned to rider weight through a simple elastomer change. #5 elastomer comes pre-installed, other weight elastomers sold separately.

Highlights:

  • Bolt-on compliance: Up to 20mm of travel to add comfort and compliance on endurance road and mixed-surface rides without adding unnecessary weight to the bike
  • Parallel-linkage design: Parallel linkage technology stays in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. As a bump lifts the back of the bicycle, the rear wheel pushes up and forward into the rider.
  • Easy elastomer change: The eeSilk seatpost can be tuned for different rider weights and riding styles by selecting the elastomer that best fits rider needs and preferences.

"I've been abusing mine in rough, mucky, wet conditions for almost 20,000km and it's still silk-ee smooth. Now, when I reach my 2nd bakery stop of the day, I can still sit down with a smile on my face."

– Rob Biron, Bike Gear Database

Q & A

Is the aluminium 27.2 eesilk still available ? Dean asked on August 20, 2023

Sadly we have phased out the Alloy eeSilk 27.2. The Carbon version is available as well as eeSilk+ in Alloy.

Hello Is there any reason I couldn't use this seatpost on a hard-tail mountain bike? Thank you. Rich Burrough asked on August 9, 2023

No the eeSilk is a great option for mountain bikes when not using a dropper seat post. It offers some very nice compliance vs a rigid seatpost.

Can I use "eesik" with a large Seat-Pack or how many weight can it hold? Thanks from Hamburg Germany. Rainer asked on June 10, 2023

Max weight limit on the eeSilk is 250lbs so as long as your rider weight and bag do not exceed this you are ok. You may find you need a firmer elastomer to compensate for the extra frame bag weight.

What is the height of the suspension part? Between the saddle rails and the top of seatpost clamp of my bike is 130 mm. I'm asking if this suspension seatpost is suitable for my bike ? Thanks for the reply. Best regards, Ales Ales asked on June 2, 2023

In order to check seat post clearance/height you can measure your current seatpost height from saddle rails to seapost collar. This is your ""seatpost extension"" measurement. Then comapre that to our minimum and maximum extension measurements on the eeSilk seaposts and as long as your current seatpost extension falls in side our minium and maximum limits you can use the eeSIlk on your bike...

Maximum extension on the eeSilk+ is 287mm - Minium is 80mm

Maximum extension on the eeSilk is 250mm for carbon, 275mm for alloy - Minimum is 68mm

If your current seatpost extension is 130mm you can confidently use the eeSilk.

When will the 31.6mm Carbon eeSilk be restocked? Or it's only available in one diameter? Paul asked on May 12, 2023

It has been phased out. You can purchase a 27.2mm Carbon eeSilk and a 27.2-31.6mm seat post adapter.

It’s a very good suspension post, but the initial elastomer was overly firm. Had to order the next softer elastomer and now it’s about right.

On warmer days it can soften slightly giving a sensation of a flat tire. On cold days it seems overly firm. Wondering how it will be in winter

Super seatpost! It transformed my Seven Axiom SL double butted titanium road bike (beefy seat stays). It is hardly noticeable in terms of ride quality (no bouncing qualities) but soaked up some road vibrations well.

I didn’t notice a difference in weight and my seat bag fits fine. Would recommend!

Beautiful seat post and I really wanted to use it on my Calfee Tandem. Unfortunately it will not insert easily into the seat tube. Goes in about an inch or two and gets stuck. Measuring the post suggest that it is not in perfect spec. Purchased a 27.2 mm post, but the bottom of the seat post is closer to 27.3 and that is just too tight and will not work. I have several other 27.2 mm seat posts including a Thudbuster that I have used for years that fit great. This one just seems too big. Disappointed as I really wanted to use this post. Trying to work with staff from Cane Creek to see if they will let me return this post.

Best part of being a part of the Cane Creek family:  It’s very refreshing to work for a small, tight-knit company where we all share the same passions and to develop new products that make cycling better for everyone.
What you’ll find me doing on the weekends: Obviously riding bikes, but also wrenching on bikes or cars, exploring the mountains, and watching F1 races.
How I got here (at Cane Creek): Feeling pretty unfulfilled with a corporate engineering job, I happened to see that Cane Creek was hiring. I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands dirty working on the latest bike tech and was fortunate enough to be offered the position.
