"The Kitsuma does a great job of muting bigger hits, especially on high speed, chunky terrain, and it offers a wide array of effective adjustments that are easy to access. For constant tinkerers, having all of those potential settings at their fingertips is going to be a big plus."

CLIMB SWITCH

3-POSITION

DESCEND. CLIMB. FIRM. The new three position climb switch retains Double Barrel’s “Descend” mode, its patented “CS” mode which provides a stable, yet responsive platform engineered to maximize traction and pedal efficiency while climbing over technical terrain and singletrack. DB Kitsuma also adds a new “Firm” mode. By utilizing a design that closes off the common bleed port, this third position excels at pedaling over long stretches of pavement or gravel roads on your way to the trail.

Q & A

Hello! Is this shock compatible with Santa Cruz v10 2020? SpaceMax asked on September 18, 2023

Yes it is. We offer Kitsuma Air in 250x75 sizing the V10 uses. However, the V10 was designed for a Coil shock so you will have to make sure to clock the air valve so it does not contact the frame or shock during compression.

I'm interested in the Kitsuma Air for my 2023 SC Hightower, but was wondering if it would fit. It looks like the clearance of the air valve might be very close in the shock tunnel of the frame. Bill Dristy asked on September 13, 2023

Unfortunately No. The Hightower, and many Santa Cruz bikes have a very narrow shock tunnel that may allow the frame to contact the Air shock under heavy side loading.

Our Coil shocks are narrower and can be used on the 2023 Hightower.

hello there. I have a 2020 Intense Carbine. I'm looking to upgrade my shock to a Kitsuma. Is there one that would fit? large size frame. Thanks in advance. Craig Bottomley asked on August 28, 2023

Your 2020 Carbine uses a 230x60 shock size and this is available in either Kitsuma Air or Kitsuma Coil. Both will fit your bike no problem just make sure you choose the 230x60 sizing.

Looking @ Kitsuma Air as an upgrade to a 2023 Trek Fuel Exe, would the air can body clear the lower shock mount bridge on the frame? Looks like it could be a little tight. Kirby Mackintosh asked on August 23, 2023

Yes, we do fit the Fuel Exe with Kitsuma. Its close but does fit Medium and larger frames...

This shock is just rolling into rotation on my bigger rig. I love my DBAir, so I have high expectations for this guy. Future review to follow.

My last bike had the Kitsuma Coil, which is also a fantastic shock. Switching to a heavier bike, I opted for the air spring instead and have been very impressed so far. Very confidence inspiring!

Best part of being a part of the Cane Creek family:  It’s very refreshing to work for a small, tight-knit company where we all share the same passions and to develop new products that make cycling better for everyone.
What you’ll find me doing on the weekends: Obviously riding bikes, but also wrenching on bikes or cars, exploring the mountains, and watching F1 races.
How I got here (at Cane Creek): Feeling pretty unfulfilled with a corporate engineering job, I happened to see that Cane Creek was hiring. I jumped at the opportunity to get my hands dirty working on the latest bike tech and was fortunate enough to be offered the position.
