COUNTERFEIT IDENTIFICATION GUIDE

COUNTERFEIT Product

Cane Creek Cycling Components is a company of riders. And we know that riding bikes makes life better. Every time someone chooses a Cane Creek product, they are choosing to trust us to improve their ride, to improve their life.

We honor that trust by making sure that every product we release – from a simple bearing to a highly sophisticated shock absorber – is the best product it can possibly be. Cane Creek is committed to make every ride better – through innovative design, superior performance and quality craftsmanship.  Our unwavering drive to bring the cycling community safer and more innovative products led us to construct our very own test lab.  Not only does our own fully equipped test lab allow for new design concepts and technologies to be developed – it also gives us the opportunity to set our own standards.  Standards we hold ourselves accountable to; standards that surpass the globally accepted requirements set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).  All components we develop must not only exceed ISO standards, but also must meet or surpass our very own benchmarks of quality, strength and safety before being considered an Authentic Cane Creek Cycling Component.

Just because a counterfeit product looks similar to the authentic version does not mean it is safe to use. Cane Creek allocates an immense amount of time and resources to ensure the materials (i.e. specific aluminum alloy) and processes (i.e. heat treatment) used during manufacturing meet our stringent design requirements. As well as constantly working with our suppliers to deliver high quality parts that arrive within spec and tolerance. We assemble all eeBrakes, Helm Forks and Double Barrel Shocks by hand in our Fletcher, NC headquarters and perform 100% inspection. Counterfeit products stand against everything we believe in and work toward. The manufacturer(s) of counterfeit products disregard all of the hard work and commitment each member of the Cane Creek team puts into products we produce. We take this insult very seriously; as counterfeit products put the entire cycling community at risk.

Please use this guide to help you in avoiding these dangerous products.
