Extend Your Ride, With More Compliance

These posts make great enhancements to gravel or mixed surface bikes by reducing the chatter transmitted from the surface to the rider and can be tuned to rider weight through a simple elastomer change.

  • Bolt-on compliance: Up to 35mm of travel to add comfort and compliance on gravel and mixed-surface rides without adding unnecessary weight to the bike.
  • Parallel-linkage design: Parallel linkage technology stays in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. As a bump lifts the back of the bicycle, the rear wheel pushes up and forward into the rider.
  • Easy elastomer change: The eeSilk+ seatpost can be tuned for different rider weights and riding styles by selecting the elastomer that best fits rider needs and preferences.

The eeSilk+ seatpost is shipped with a Medium elastomer installed. Extra Soft, Soft, Firm and Extra Firm elastomers are sold separately.

<110lb (<50kg) = #1 Elastomer*
100-160lb (45-73kg) = #3 Elastomer*
150-210lb (68-95kg) = #5 Elastomer
200-250lb (90-113kg) = #7 Elastomer*
200-250lb (90-113kg) = #9 Elastomer*

Q & A

How "tall" is the elastomer section? With my current seat positioning I have about 8cm from the top of the seat tube to the bottom the the seat rail; is that enough space? Mike Allen asked on April 18, 2024

Hello, minimum extension on our eeSilk+ seat post is 80mm or 8CM.

Hello, thanks for reaching out, however, this seatpost cannot be added to a dropper.

Is the maximum extension for the carbon and aluminum version the same? The posts differ 25mm in length, but there is only one maximum extension shown. Tim asked on February 9, 2024

Hello, minimum insertion is 100mm for our eeSilk+ aluminum and carbon seat posts. Maximum extension for our eeSilk+ Alloy is 287mm and 262mm for our carbon.

Is there ‘sag’ when simply sitting on the bike or when riding smooth pavement? Or does your EEsilk+ design only cushions when one is riding over a rough surface? Brett Davis asked on February 1, 2024

Hello, there will be a bit of "sag" while sitting on the seat post, this is due to the riders weight and why we offer multiple elastomers firmness options.

I asked the wrong question the other day. I meant yo ask about the bottom of the seatpost. In my application, I will be close to the minimum possible extension (maximum insertion). On my Giant Revolt Advanced, the seat tube narrows to allow larger tire clearance. I am not sure if I can get the seat low enough. Also, I will be using a 27.2mm seat post with the adapter. Unless there is some spring or other active mechanism at the bottom of the seatpost, it seems that it should work just fine with 4 or more inches extending below the adapter. I am looking at the aluminum version which I would expect to have a hollow tube at the bottom of the seatpost. If it is a hollow tube, I should be able to cut it. The only issue would be that the “minimum insertion” mark would not be in the right place and the seatpost would have a shorter maximum extension. Brad asked on November 21, 2023

It is fine to cut the seatpost slightly for it to fit in your frame. There is no apparatus or moving parts housed within the post. Just be sure that you have ample seatpost extending past the adapter.

Performs as advertised. Can barely tell it's there. No bobbing. No issues with my seat post bag.

Actually, what my mind was wondering on the first ride was why my feet were vibrating so much?! Turns out they weren't vibrating any more than usual. But since the stem and seat post were soaking everything up, my feet were the only part of me still feeling the rattle.

Once my mind adjusted to the new sensation, I began to really, really enjoy my ride. A few hundred kms later and I'm very happy I made the purchase.

This seat post is simple and lightweight and takes the edge off especially on rough gravel.
