If the elastomers show a noticeable difference in softness over time, or if they are cracked, deformed, or damaged in anyway you can replace them. If using the correct elastomer for your riding weight the elastomers should last thousands of miles.

Ben Rea answered on June 12, 2023 store managerHi Angel,
For a 180lb rider weight, I will recommend using the preinstalled #5 elastomer. The elastomer chart can be found in the eeSilk Installation Instructions - https://canecreek.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/AAE0305_eeSilk_Instructions_1_25_2022-1.pdf

Wish they still made these in aluminum - black Friday sales made pricing acceptable but carbon is overkill on my 20 year old aluminum frame.
Regardless, these stems and seat posts are great. It's amazing that these and a nice set of 28x700 Continentals make gravel paths and driveways no issue.

This is a quality addition to my gravel bike. I had a dropper post and switched to the eeSilk because I ride some rough trails and gravel roads. I do not notice any bob on the pedal stroke. Highly reccomended!
