SHORT TRAVEL, BIG PERFORMANCE - $579.99

The world’s lightest twin tube coil shock, designed for the rider who values going up as much as going down and able to transform a short travel bike into something much, much more.

The ground-tracking sensitivity of coil gives a level of control to your bike that you never thought possible – without the weight and bulk of larger shocks or the inefficiency of longer-travel suspension platforms.

Powered by DB Twin Tube technology, IL shocks give a super wide range of 4-way damping adjustability and use 30% more oil volume in the damper compared to other inline shocks. Stock-level suspension makes all kinds of concessions to suit the larger market, and when the amount of rear travel is already minimal, IL is perhaps the most noticeable upgrade you can make to your bike’s performance.

Highlights:

  • Four-way independent adjustment
  • Climb Switch & integrated tool
  • Thicker damper shaft for increased strength
  • 210 grams (without spring)
  • 17mm reduction in overall width on the valve body to increase fitment possibilities on tight frames
  • Added detents on the preload collar allow more precise preload tuning

Hand-assembled and individually dyno-tested in our Western North Carolina facility, IL shocks continue to provide a level of quality, performance, and rider benefit that is unmatched.

First and foremost, customer service is absolutely superb. I had a small issue, and they took care of it ASAP, actually went above and beyond. The new coil for my spur, is exactly what I was searching for, cherry on top of the cake for my favorite bike.

If you are in Canada, beware the shipping. They use DHL and I was charged 50% of my total order value as “duty fees” on arrival. Other than that, the shock works good. Factory tune is really good as well. Even though it’s not a downhill recommended shock, I did take it for a park day just to see. The oil definitely gets the shock warm to the touch, but not hot enough to hinder performance and dampening. My only complaint is that dirt and dust somehow gets into the coil seat and makes a really loud squeak, haven’t figured out a solution aside from taking the coil off and cleaning it after long rides. The progressive coil feels very supportive on big hits.

Would this fit on the 2017 Rocky Mountain Pipeline? The carbon frame has a pretty tight linkage... not sure if there would be any room for the coil Zmetz7 asked on January 13, 2024

Due to the age of this frame, we have not been able to confirm fitment. It is unlikely that the Coil IL would fit.

Would this shock fit a spark 970. It says it comes stock with a trunnion 165x45 Cj asked on January 2, 2024

The current Sparcs use a proprietary shock design and therefore can't be set up with aftermarket rear shocks. Thank you for thinking of us though! If you ever want to upgrade the fork to something a bit burlier and more substantial, Helm would be a great thing to consider!
