A powerful shock that’s light and supportive enough for crushing climbs, with the damping performance of much heavier, piggyback shocks for ripping fast descents. Designed for the rider who values going up as much as going down and proves that your bike’s capability cannot be measured in wheel travel.
Built with Cane Creek DB Twin Tube Technology, the next generation of IL shocks have the widest range of damping adjustability on the market – designed to bring a new level of control to shorter travel bikes. The Air IL provides riders with accessible, external adjusters that control:
High-speed Compression – For the big impacts
Low-speed Compression – For pedal platform
High-speed Rebound – For stability
Low-speed Rebound – For sensitivity
With more tuning options comes more control of your ride and the confidence to push it harder.

Four-way adjustability becomes even more accessible with the new integrated tool nested in our CS (Climb Switch) lever.
When engaged, the low-speed damping is changed with a set of internal “climbing circuits.” We tune these circuits specifically for the demands of off-road climbing to achieve improved pedal efficiency with less chassis motion. Unlike other climbing platforms, our CS feature adjusts both low-speed compression and rebound.
The redesigned Air Spring on the Cane Creek Air IL was developed to enhance the overall ride characteristics while reducing the physical size of the shock. The new compact design and increased MAX to 350psi results in an air spring that fits more bikes and more riders.
Cane Creek’s engineers have upgraded the all new Air IL with thicker inner damper tubes for increased strength and resilience from forces that the shock has to withstand while being ridden hard. To ensure maximum quality control and performance each and every Cane Creek rear shock is hand assembled and individually dyno tested in our Western North Carolina facility.
Our legendary twin tube damper design moves much more oil through externally adjustable valving instead of forcing it through shims on the main piston. This circulating oil flow allows for superior tunability and eliminates the need for internal valving changes to achieve your optimal shock tune.
